A 16-year-old Webb County juvenile was taken into custody last week after crashing a stolen pickup truck into a parked freighter.
Frio County deputies are reporting that US Border Patrol agents took the driver of a white Dodge pickup truck into custody at a Pearsall west-side gas station just before 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, following a chase and crash.

Frio County officers examine the wreckage of a stolen pickup truck and an 18-wheel freighter after an accident last week involving a teen driver from Webb County who has been charged in connection with the case.
Emergency dispatchers confirmed that the pickup truck had been reported by the San Antonio Police Department as a stolen vehicle. An inspection of the pickup established that the vehicle identification number matched the reported stolen vehicle.
Deputies say the pickup truck showed signs of tampering that are consistent with a vehicle being stolen, such as damage to the driver’s locking mechanism.
The juvenile was transported to a juvenile facility without further incident.
