81st Judicial District Judge Jennifer Dillingham was recently honored with the 2026 Texas Tech University School of Law Rising Star Alumni Award during a reception held in conjunction with the State Bar of Texas annual meeting in Houston.
The Rising Star Alumni Award recognizes graduates who have distinguished themselves through outstanding professional achievement, leadership, and service early in their legal careers.
“It is a tremendous honor to receive this award,” Judge Dillingham said. “Texas Tech University School of Law played a significant role in shaping my legal career by strengthening the values of service, professionalism, and dedication to the rule of law that continue to guide me every day.”
Judge Dillingham said the award reflects the encouragement and mentorship she has received throughout her career.

“This recognition represents not only my own efforts but also the support of the professors, colleagues, mentors, and friends who have invested in me along the way,” she said. “The Red Raider legal community is truly exceptional, and I am proud to be a part of it. It makes it even more meaningful that our oldest child will soon be joining the Red Raider family as an incoming freshman.”
Judge Dillingham expressed her gratitude to Texas Tech University School of Law for the honor and reaffirmed her commitment to serving the citizens of South Texas as she begins a new term in January.
“I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Texas, giving back to the legal profession that has given me so much, and serving the citizens of the 81st Judicial District for many years to come.”
Judge Dillingham serves Atascosa, Frio, Karnes, La Salle, and Wilson counties.
