Bobby Joe Childers, 80, died on August 30, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 28, 1940 to Joe Paris Childers and Verna Mae Whitten Childers Crisp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Linda Mae Huffman and his brothers George Thomas Crisp and Robert R. Crisp.
Childers is survived by his wife of 60 years Ramona Kay Childers, sons Thomas Childers Sr. (Jaxel Childers) and Carl Childers, brothers and sisters John Crisp (June), Dorris Westfall (David), Jim Crisp, Carol Quarles (Donnie) and Brenda Gonzales (Joe), grandchildren Thomas Childers Jr. (Amy), Darrel Childers, James Childers (Kimberly), Brock Childers and his great grandchildren Luarel-ly, Luke, Miranda, Cody and Kayce Jo.
Childers was a member of the Church of God for 60 years.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 1 at Peters Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Church of God Seventh Day, 1633 Bus. Lp. 355, Cotulla and to River City Hospice, 4211 Gardendale #102, San Antonio, Texas 78229.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
