Julia Mabel Beck, 101, of Euless and formerly of Pearsall, died on June 9, 2021 in Euless. She was born on April 26, 1920 in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Capt. Jesse K. and Julia Woodward Mattox.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean Beck, stepson Randy Beck, brothers Jesse K. Mattox Jr. and Charles W. Mattox, nephew Matthew Mattox and niece Catherine Mattox.
Julia is survived by son Tom Branch of Bryan, daughter Margo Mullen (Mike) of Bedford, stepson Mike Beck (Kelly) of Weatherford, stepdaughters Bonnie Snedecor (Wayne) of Houston, and Cindy Basore (Ed) of Houston. Survivors also include granddaughters Nicole and Taylor Mullen, nephews Charles Mattox, Jr. (Emily) of El Paso, Jess K. Mattox III (Jan) of Sugarland, John Mattox (Nancy) of Austin, and niece Julie Douglass (Brent) of Austin, and numerous step-grand and great-grandchildren.
Beck was a graduate of Pearsall High School, Class of 1938.
Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pearsall on Friday, June 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. A graveside service was held on Saturday, June 12 at 10 a.m. at Pearsall Cemetery in Pearsall with Dr. David Bachelor officiating.
Pallbearers were Bill Thompson, Lew Thompson, Stu Thompson, Patrick Wilder, Doug Lumpkin, and Jesse Alvarez.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home in Pearsall.
