Cotulla High School sophomore Kaydin Garza has attended the National Hispanic Institute Texas Star Great Debate at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, held June 20 to 25. The NHI Great Debate hosts hundreds of rising sophomores from across the state to engage in numerous activities and study leadership. The six-day conference annually includes debate competitions, team building, communication skills, civic responsibilities, and related educational and team activities. Garza will be eligible to continue in the NHI Summer Leadership Program her junior year at the Lorenzo De Zavala Leadership Conference, and in her senior year at the Collegiate World Series Leadership Conference. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesus “Sonny” Garza.
