13 Cotulla players earn all-district football honors.

Senior Robert Sanchez and junior Alex Medina earned all-district football superlatives while 13 members of the Cotulla Cowboys earned accolades on the District 14-3A, Division I football team, which is annually announced during the football playoffs.
Sanchez, a disruptive force on the defensive side and anchor on the offensive line for the Cowboys, was named the District Offensive and Defensive Lineman of the Year. Medina, Cotulla’s junior quarterback, was selected as the Punter of the Year in 14-3A.
Three Cowboys earned first-team all-district honors while four were named to the all-district second-team. Six more were given honorable mention.
Medina, along with earning punting accolades, was named first-team quarterback while Eric Aldaco was a first-team selection at fullback. Manuel Hernandez was a first-team selection at defensive end while Aldaco was also named a two-way first-team pick after collecting honors at linebacker.
Jose Gonzalez and Gerardo Gonzalez were both named to the second-team offense at running back and offensive line, respectively, while Medina and Frank Torres were second-team defensive back selections.
Wide receiver Dadrian Deleon, utility player Isaac Cerda, lineman Miguel Hernandez, defensive back Jose Gonzalez and linebackers Marco Benavidz and Ricardo Ruiz were all given honorable mention.
Earning Academic All-District honors for Cotulla were Robert Sanchez, Isaac Cerda, Victor Moreno, Alejandro Medina, Eric Aldaco, Marco Benavidez, Ricardo Ruiz, Frank Torres, Roberto Perales and Deric Aldaco.
Cotulla went 3-7 overall this year and were fifth at 1-4 in District 14-3A, Division I.
