Delia Trevino Ontiveros

Delia Trevino Ontiveros, 88, died on February 15, 2025 in San Antonio. She was born on April 4, 1936 in Pearsall to Luis and Olivia Trevino.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Rosalio, daughter Gloria, granddaughter Janice, her sister Delmira, and brothers Luis and Rudy.

Delia is survived by sons Carlos (Maria), Robert (Mary Jane), and Roland (Diane), daughters Gracie (Carlos) and Diana (Gabriel) and sisters Diamantina (Fernando) and Elva Trevino Hart. She was also a grandmother to Erica, Veronica, Victoria, Carlos Jr., Roland Jr., David, Nicole, Chantal, Evan, Amanda, Anthony, and Alex and great-grandmother to 21.

Delia mothered all her younger siblings, her children, her foster children, and everyone she came in contact with. She was a graduate of Pearsall High School where she would return after picking sugar beets, green beans, and cucumbers during the family summers as migrant workers. Her dad ensured everyone was back in time for the beginning of school so that all had a chance to graduate.

Later in life, she enjoyed listening to Vicente Fernandez on the radio and attending his concerts. She would never pass up going to Panchitos for an early breakfast with one of her kids or her husband of 58 years and sitting in the corner so she could people-watch. Delia often visited the Good Samaritan Center on Saltillo St. where she would visit with friends, play bingo, and watch everyone dancing.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, March 4 with visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at 6 p.m. at Castillo Funeral Home Chapel in San Antonio. She will be buried next to her mom in Pearsall.
