Amando S. Rodriguez, 72, of Pearsall, died on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 17, 1952 in Wellman, Texas to parents Nicolas and Agapita Rodriguez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gilberto Rodriguez and Luis Rodriguez.
Amando is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dora, sons Amando Jr. (Marisol), Rolando, and Daniel (Elaine), he is also survived by his siblings Consuelo Trevino, Nicolas Rodriguez Jr. (Gloria), Oscar Rodriguez (Socorro), Leonardo Rodriguez (Nina), Catarino Rodriguez (Sylvia), Domingo Rodriguez (Irma), Sylvia Rodriguez (Victor), Dora Gonzales (Randy), Nobert Rodriguez (Mitzy), and his grandchildren Amando Rodriguez III, and Alejandro Rodriguez, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Amando served his community as a Frio County Constable in Precinct #3 from 2001 to 2004 and he and his wife Dora are owners of A&D Ballroom in Pearsall. For many years, Amando also worked side-by-side with his father in the watermelon fields.
At a young age, Mando and his siblings learned the value of hard work from their father, farming the family fields. It became a tradition he continued with his own sons and grandsons until this past year.
Visitation was held in his honor on Monday, March 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall. Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, March 18 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Pearsall Catholic Cemetery East (Colorado St).
Pallbearers included: Rudy Trevino, Paul Rodriguez, Eliseo Rodriguez, David Rodriguez, Oscar Rodriguez, EJ Rodriguez, Amando Rodriguez III and Alejandro Rodriguez.
Honorary pallbearers included: Crystal Pena, Gabriel Rodriguez, Melissa Ramirez, Gavin Gonzalez and Derick Rodriguez.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Primrose Funeral Services, Pearsall.
