Jesus “Chuy” Velasquez, 65, died on Friday, April 4, 2025. He was born on February 13, 1960 in Cotulla and was the youngest of eight children.

He married his wife Norma Mendoza on May 28, 1977 at the American Legion in Cotulla and they raised two children, Norma (Martin) and Jesus Jr. (Cassandra). They have eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with more on the way.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9 at Peters Funeral Home from 4 to 9  p.m., with a Rosary at 7  p.m. Funeral services were on Thursday, April 10 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Cotulla East Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
