Tony-Antonio Martinez, 73, died on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. He was born on April 3, 1951, to Jose and Margarita O. Martinez.
He is preceded in death by his parents and five of his siblings, Jose Martinez Jr., Jimmy Martinez, Margarita Escobar, Alejandro Martinez, and Lucinda Tejeda.
Tony is survived by his wife Frances Martinez, and his siblings Eliseo Martinez, Maria Rodriguez, Beatriz Michel, and Diana Fernandez as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also remembered by: Joey and wife Laura Rodriguez of Phoenix, Arizona, Sandra Rodriguez and Francisco of Boerne, Mario and wife Dora Rodriguez of Pearsall, Robert Rodriguez and Leticia of Pearsall, David & wife Sara Rodriguez of San Antonio, Rebecca and husband Freddie Ortiz of Floresville, Julie and husband Jason Scripture of Natalia, Leobardo Jr. and wife Laurie Michel of Lockhart, Kristina and husband Chilo Hernandez of Dilley, Eliseo Jr. and wife Lauren Martinez of Elgin, lliinois, Anthony Martinez of Elgin, Illinois, Alex and wife Jessica Martinez of Mercedes, Rolando and wife Veronica Martinez of Weslaco, Kris and wife Mandy Martinez of McAllen, Annette and husband Steve Bergbigler of Butler, Pennsylvania and Lela and husband Joe of Pennsylvania.
In 2014, Tony moved into the Devine Health and Rehabilitation Center, and in 2017, he made his home at the Pearsall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he remained until his passing.
Tony enjoyed sports, especially baseball, football, and basketball and loyally followed his favorite teams.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7 at Peters Funeral Home from 8 to 11 a.m. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 7 at 11 a.m. at Peters Funeral Home.
Interment followed at the Cotulla Southwest Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
