WILDCAT RELAYS AT CARRIZO SPRINGS
Cotulla’s track and field teams competed in the Wildcat Relays in Carrizo Springs on Thursday, February 26 and saw three athletes garner gold medals and numerous others place high at the event.
Pablo Garcia earned gold in the mile run and was second in the two mile run while John Michael Sanchez took first in the pole vault while Jackeline Alba was first in the triple jump. Alba also finished second in the triple jump.
Ryan Sanchez finished second in the 300m hurdles and was third in the 110m hurdles.
Varsity results are as follows: 1,600m run, first place, Pablo Garcia; pole vault, first, John Michael Sanchez; triple jump, first, Jackeline Alba; 3,200m run, second, Pablo Garcia; 300m hurdles, second, Ryan Sanchez; high jump, second, Rene Barrera; long jump, second, Jackeline Alba; 110m hurdles, third, Ryan Sanchez; high jump, third, Jordan Bingaman.
Junior varsity results are as follows: discus, first, Johnny Chavera; pole vault, second, Juan Marquez; 800m run, second, Destiny Freeman; 1,600m run, third, Jarek Gonzalez.
Cotulla was in action at the Wolf Pack Relays in Dilley on Wednesday, March 4 and will be at San Antonio Cole on Wednesday, March 11.
