JACK RANDALL RELAYS IN FLORESVILLE
Pearsall’s track team competed at the competitive Jack Randall Relays at Floresville’s Eschenburg Stadium on Friday, February 27.
Jose Rocha captured the team’s only gold medal at the event as he won the triple jump with a leap of 41’8-1/4″. He was sixth in the long jump and helped the sprint relay finish sixth and mile relay team finish seventh at the event.
Tony Ramirez was fourth in the 300m hurdles and fifth in the 110m hurdles while Abel Elizondo was fifth and sixth in the 200m and 100m events.
Angelyna Montes captured the Lady Mavs’ only gold with a first place finish in the 400m dash with a time of 1:03.72.
“It was a competitive and tough meet for our teams,” PHS Head Coach Julian Hernandez said. “We are proud of our athletes for their efforts in their events.
“A lot of them competed in new events, so moving forward we hope they can thrive in some of those spots.”
Overall we feel that it was a good meet for our athletes to see that kind of competition.
