Dilley lifters finish fourth, seventh at THSWPA championship event.

Dilley had a trio of lifters earn top ten finishes during action at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Championships in Edinburg on March 19.

Esmeralda Rodriguez and Aundrea Rodriguez both finished fourth in their respective weight divisions while Mariana Urrea was seventh at the Class 3A Division II event.

“Our ladies came in against the best lifters in Texas and established a strong presence,” DHS Head Coach Ismael Rocha said. “They really represented the great 78017 and just we are proud of our student-athletes and coaches on a spectacular season.”

Esmeralda was fourth at 132 lbs. with a total weight of 850 lbs. While Aundrea was fourth in the 198-lb. division with a total lift of 1,000 lbs.

Urrea was seventh at 148 lbs. with her total lift of 835 lbs.
