Petra V. Benavides

Petra V. Benavides, 79, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Petra is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ascension Benavides, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and family, and son Lionel Benavides.

She is lovingly survived by her children Osvaldo Benavides (Alicia Ramon), Clara Cervantes (Roberto), Baldemar Benavides (Nakisha), Crisselda Valdez (Ray), Horacio Benavides (Adrian), Daniel Benavides (Connie Hernandez), Teresita Hernandez (Kevin), 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, along with her siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

A viewing and prayer service was held on Monday, July 20 at the Christian Faith Center in Dilley at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 21, also at Christian Faith Center at 10 a.m. With burial immediately following the service at the Dilley Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapel, Pearsall.
