Maria Medina-Soto of Encinal died on August 1, 2020 in San Antonio at the age of 75. She was born on August 29, 1943 to Jose and Eloiza Medina in Encinal.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 62 years Vicente Soto Sr., sons Osvaldo “Mouse” Soto, Jose Angel “Jap” Soto, nephew raised by her Pablo“Chira” Garcia, two grandchildren Vanessa Reyes and Hector Maldonado Jr., one great grandchild, Javier Marquez, brothers Carlos, Jesus, Jose, Juan Medina, sisters Josefina Rodriguez, Andrea Vela and Maria Santos Garcia.

She is survived by her children Vicente (Juany) Soto Jr. of Encinal, Adriana (Rolando) of Agua Dulce, Maria (Silvano) Sanchez of Encinal, Priscilla (Maurilio) Reyes of Encinal, Lorenzo (Velma) Soto of Laredo, Cindy (Wally) Gonzalez of Dilley and Erika Soto of Dilley, niece and nephews raised by her San Juanita Garcia of Dallas, Ernesto (Elvira) Garcia of Dallas and Armando (Lydia) Garcia of Laredo, along with 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Rodrigo Medina of Encinal and Alejandro Medina of La Pryor, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A private funeral service will be at the direction of Peters Funeral Home in Cotulla.
