Guadalupe Munoz Jr., 80, died surrounded by his family on September 25, 2024. He was born to Candida Munoz and Guadalupe Munoz Sr.

He is preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, sister Clara Martinez, son Rene Munoz and several nieces and nephews.

Guadalupe is survived by his wife Lidia Rosas, sons Guadalupe V. Munoz (Stephanie), Ricardo Munoz, stepsons David Diaz, Arthur Rosas, siblings Minnie Medina, Gilbert Munoz (Lucy), Eddie Munoz (Connie), Rosario Castillo (Alfredo), Conrad Munoz (Letty), Lionel Munoz Norma Longoria, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Lupe was the oldest of nine children and left home at 17 to work to help support his siblings. He enjoyed being in West Texas and that is where he was working when he had a work accident in 1976 and suffered burns over 65 percent of his body. He survived the incident and later picked up drawing and painting, a past time he enjoyed since his childhood. Lupe enjoyed to paint despite his setbacks and limited use of his arms and hands. He was introduced to the Salvation Army art program where he continued his art, made many friends and was even able to sell his work, which was a huge accomplishment for him.

Along with being very involved with the Salvation Army Senior Center he was also involved with the Knights of Columbus chapter at St. Mary Magdalene in San Antonio.

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 29 and a viewing of his artwork will be at 9:30 a.m. Funeral

Mass will be held at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall in Pearsall. Burial will follow at the Westside Catholic Cemetery.
