Leonard Wayne Stewart, 62, died on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, in Pearsall. He was born on July 28, 1962 in Beeville to Charlie and Odell Stewart and raised in Dilley.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Gail Stewart, son Benjamin Stewart and daughter-in-law Katie, his father and sister Alice (Kenneth) Hooper.

He graduated from Dilley High School in 1980 and grew up helping his father, Charlie, with ranch work from an early age. In his early 20s, he spent his time working in the oil field. At the age of 27, Leonard married his beloved wife, Gail. Shortly after getting married, Leonard found his life’s calling when he was offered a job as a ranch foreman at the JHO Ranch in Pearsall. He enjoyed 35 years of ranch life at the JHO where he and Gail raised their son, Ben.

Leonard enjoyed hunting, finding arrowheads, eating steak, reading western stories, and going camping with his family and friends.

A memorial service was held on November 25 at 11 a.m. at the Dilley First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the church may be made in Leonard’s name to P.O. Box 1968 Dilley, Texas 78017.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels.
