Ramona Chavira, 91, died in her home on Sunday, November 17, 2024. She was born on April 4, 1933 in Moore to Doroteo and Gregoria Reyes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, son Roy, grandson Rene Ray, great grandson Lucas Whitehead, brothers Lupe, Luis, and Julian Reyes, sisters Aldefina Rodriguez and Andrea Tijerina.
Ramona is survived by her children Rachel Schossow, Rene (Melba), Becky (Jesse) Mendoza, Barbara (Jamie) Ramirez and Bobby Chavira, brothers Pifanio Reyes and Polo Reyes.
Ramona married Ray Chavira on October 13, 1956. Together they had six children, 21 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26 from 5 to 9 p.m. A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. at the Primrose Funeral Services in Pearsall.
Mass was held on Wednesday, November 27 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall. Interment followed at the Frio County Cemetery.
